HAZARD ALERT - SUDDEN UNCONTROLLED PRESSURE RELEASE PRECAUTIONS

Hazard Alert letter created by the National STEPS network, The Association of Energy Service Companies, and Veriforce on Sudden Uncontrolled Pressure Release Precautions in the upstream oil and gas industry.

Finished the Sudden Uncontrolled Pressure Release Hazard Alert at the beginning of March of this year and sent it up to OSHA’s National Office for a review and approval. Well as you know, the COVID-19 began hitting the States pretty hard in mid-March forcing the country into “stay at home” orders. Over the past several months and still continuing, the National Office and OSHA is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Office has slowly requested several minor changes over the past few months to improve the hazard alert, but to this date, has yet to approve it. So with the interest of getting this Hazard Alert out to the employees and employers as quickly as possible, it has been decided to remove the OSHA Alliance logo from the alert and have it be just an oil and gas industry product. The plan is hopefully in the coming months we will be able to put the OSHA Alliance Logo back on the alert once approval from the National Office.
